Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1 Franc 1970 coin from Burundi is that it was the first coin to feature the country's national emblem, the karyenda, which is a traditional drum. The drum is depicted on the obverse side of the coin, surrounded by the words "REPUBLIQUE DU BURUNDI" and "1 FRANC". This coin was also the first to be issued by Burundi after it gained independence from Belgium in 1962.
