Comment
This is a pattern issue of the ever popular commemorative centenary florin. This variant can be distinguished by the prominence of the rider's right nipple and was removed from the production coin. Issued to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of Victoria (1834) and the foundation of Melbourne (1935).
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 1 Florin - George V (Victoria and Melbourne Centenary - Pattern) ND (1934-1935) from Australia is that it was designed by artist Andor Mészáros, who was a Hungarian-born sculptor and medalist. Mészáros was known for his work on various coins and medals, and his design for this particular coin features a portrait of King George V on one side and a depiction of the Victoria and Melbourne Centenary on the other. The coin's unique design and limited mintage make it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
