Comment

After much heated discussion the titles F:D:, removed at the start of the new reign, were returned to the obverse legend on the Royal visit florin in 1954. They were also returned to the regular coinage from 1955.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1954 Australian 1 Florin coin featuring Elizabeth II's first portrait is that it was minted to commemorate the Queen's first visit to Australia in 1954. The coin's design features a portrait of the young Queen Elizabeth II on one side and the Australian coat of arms on the other. The coin was minted in silver and has a weight of 11.31 grams. It is considered a rare and valuable collector's item among numismatists and is highly sought after by coin collectors.
