Interesting fact
The 1 Escudo coin from Portugal features a unique design that showcases the country's rich history and culture. On one side of the coin, there is an image of the Portuguese coat of arms, which includes a shield with five quinas (a symbol of the country's historical provinces) and a crown. On the other side, there is an image of the famous Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama, who is credited with discovering the sea route to India in the late 15th century.
