Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Duit - Willem I 1816-1826 coin from Indonesia › Netherlands East Indies (1601-1949) is that it was designed by the Dutch artist and engraver, Josephus Augustinus Brouwers. Brouwers was known for his work on various coins and banknotes, and his design for the 1 Duit coin features a portrait of King Willem I of the Netherlands on one side and an image of a lion on the other. The lion symbolized the Dutch East India Company, which had a significant presence in the region now known as Indonesia during the 19th century.
