Interesting fact
The 1 Duit coin from the City of Deventer (Dutch Republic) made of Copper, has a unique feature. It has a hole in the center, which was used to thread a cord or a chain through, allowing people to wear it as an amulet or a pendant. This practice was common in the 17th century, and it was believed that carrying a coin with a hole in it could bring good luck and protect the wearer from harm.
