Comment
In the treaty of peace between France and Austria, following the Spanish Succession War, it was stipulated that the Electors of Bavaria and Cologne be restored to their lands. To reconcile the diverse interests of the various states of the empire, another treaty was required. Participants chose to assemble at the small town of Baden in Aargau on 7 September 1714. The treaty was signed by Prince Eugene and the Maréchal de Villars.Interesting fact
