The 1 Ducat - Maximilian I (St Veit) 1516-1519 coin from the Austrian Empire is interesting because it was minted during a time of great change in Europe, particularly in the Holy Roman Empire, of which Maximilian I was the Emperor. The coin's design features an image of St. Veit, the patron saint of Vienna, on one side, and the Emperor's portrait on the other. This coin was used as a means of payment and was valued at 1/4 of a Gulden, which was the standard unit of account in the empire at the time. Despite its age, the coin remains a popular collector's item due to its historical significance and rarity.
