Example of type 2 from Kunker auctionsInteresting fact
The 1 Ducat coin was minted during the reign of King Frederick IV of Denmark, who ruled from 1705 to 1706. It was a time of great change in Denmark, as the country was transitioning from a feudal society to a modern, centralized state. The coin itself is a reflection of this change, as it features a modern, machined design that was new for its time. The coin's obverse features a portrait of King Frederick IV, while the reverse features the Danish coat of arms and the value of the coin. The use of gold in the coin's minting was also a symbol of the country's growing wealth and prosperity.
