Interesting fact
The 1 Ducat coin was minted during the reign of King Frederik III of Denmark, who ruled from 1648 to 1670. The coin was used as a means of payment and was widely accepted in trade, not only in Denmark but also in other European countries. The fact that it was made of gold (.979) and weighed 3.48 grams made it a valuable and reliable form of currency. It's interesting to note that the coin's design features an image of King Frederik III on one side and the Danish coat of arms on the other. The coat of arms features three lions and a shield with the motto "King of the Danes, Goths and Wends" written in Latin. This design was used on many Danish coins during this period and has become a symbol of Danish history and culture.
