Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1726 Augsburg 1 Ducat coin is that it features a unique design element - a small hole in the center of the coin. This hole was intentionally drilled into the coin as a way to test its authenticity. At the time, counterfeiters were known to produce coins with a similar appearance, but they would not have the same weight or metal content as genuine coins. By drilling a small hole in the coin, officials could easily identify genuine coins from counterfeit ones, as the hole would reveal the coin's internal structure and weight. This feature is known as a "proof hole" and is a distinctive characteristic of the 1726 Augsburg 1 Ducat coin.
