Seven examples are known, with only four being in private collections.There has been much controversy on dating Etruscan coins, and as such, the date ranges my vary per source.
The Beast series was struck using Populonia's first silver standard.
Interesting fact
The lion depicted on the coin was a symbol of strength and power in ancient Etruria, and it's believed that the lion was chosen as the symbol for the 1 Drachm coin because it represented the Etruscan values of courage, royalty, and protection.
