Comment
The prototype for these coins is a Sasanian drachm of King Varhran V.The "Mug type" pieces are large and thin, often resulting in cracks on the coins.
Because the tamgha of Kesh is triskeles, this type could somehow be connected to Kesh.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique countermark in the form of a triskeles, which is a symbol composed of three interconnected crescents. This countermark was used by the Bukhar Khudat dynasty to indicate that the coin was issued by a specific mint, in this case, the mint of Bukhara Sogd. The use of countermarks was a common practice in ancient times, as it allowed mints to distinguish their coins from those issued by other mints, and to indicate the coin's place of origin.
