Comment
The Presidential Dollar proved to be unpopular amongst the American public and are today rarely seen in everyday commerce. However, they are frequently used in Ecuador and El Salvador, two nations that have adopted the United States dollar.Interesting fact
The Zachary Taylor dollar coin was part of the Presidential $1 Coin Program, which was authorized by Congress in 2005 to honor each U.S. President on a dollar coin. The program ran from 2007 to 2016 and featured four different designs each year, with one coin for each president. The Zachary Taylor coin was released in 2009 and features an image of Taylor on the obverse (front) side, with the Statue of Liberty on the reverse (back) side.
