Interesting fact
The 1 Dollar coin from Jamaica, which was minted from 2008 to 2022, features an image of the national hero, Marcus Garvey, on its obverse side. Marcus Garvey was a prominent figure in the Pan-African movement and is considered a symbol of black pride and unity. The coin's design was created by sculptor and coin designer, Ian Rank-Broadley, and was introduced as part of a series of coins commemorating Jamaica's 40th anniversary of independence.
