Interesting fact

The Gobrecht Dollar, designed by Christian Gobrecht, was the first silver dollar coin minted in the United States. It was produced from 1836 to 1839 and was known for its unique design, featuring a Lady Liberty figure on the obverse side and an eagle on the reverse side. The coin was made of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, and had a diameter of 38.5 millimeters. Despite its relatively short production run, the Gobrecht Dollar remains a popular collector's item among numismatists today.
