Special features
THE THIRD CANADIAN PEACE DOLLAR. The Peace dollar is back in 2022, this time with a dynamic field that pulsates with pride and hope thanks to photonic technology.
A PULSATING FIELD. The pattern on the reverse of the coin pulsates: it seems to expand and contract when the coin is tilted. This optical effect is produced by a set of mirrors less than a millimeter in size, specially designed and engraved to reflect light and create the illusion of movement - like a glimmer of hope that radiates.
VERY HIGH RELIEF. Ultra-high relief engraving technology takes the design to the next level, adding depth and finesse to this inspiring symbol of peace.
AN OUNCE OF BRILLIANT SILVER. Struck in 1 oz. of 99.99% pure silver, the coin is enhanced by a luminous numismatic proof finish that ensures every finely chased detail is highlighted, from the strands of the Lady of Peace's hair to the maple leaves adorning her crown.
A NUMBERED CERTIFICATE. The Royal Canadian Mint certifies the authenticity of all its collector coins.

Did you know?
The reverse of the coin features the Lady of Peace, who made her first appearance on the 2019 Canadian Peace and Freedom Medal. Since then, she has appeared every year on the Canadian Peace Dollar (2020, 2021 and 2022). Her crown of maple leaves and olive branches symbolizes the values at the heart of the Canadian identity: peace, order and good governance.
Lester B. Pearson is not the only Canadian to have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 1988, thousands of his compatriots were among the world's peacekeepers collectively rewarded for their contribution to UN missions. This honour inspired the creation of the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, now proudly worn by many veterans.
The first Peace Dollar was minted in the United States in December 1921 to mark the end of the First World War; just over a million copies of this first edition were issued. The Peace Dollar returned every year until 1928, then again in 1934 and 1935. And in 1965, the Denver Mint minted over 316,000 vintage 1964 Peace Dollars, but these were never put into circulation.

Packaging
The coin is encapsulated and presented in a black double-shell case adorned with the Royal Canadian Mint logo. The case is accompanied by a black protective box.Automatically translated

Interesting fact

The 2022 Canadian Peace Dollar, made of .9999 silver and weighing 30.76g, features a unique reverse design that depicts a stylized maple leaf, symbolizing peace and unity. This design was created by Canadian artist, Joel Kimmel, and is the first time a maple leaf has been featured on a Canadian coin. The coin's obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt. This coin is a non-circulating coin, meaning it is not intended for circulation and is instead produced for collectors and investors.
