Reverse
The reverse features a reproduction of the motif that adorned the proof and specimen dollars issued in 1997. To mark the 10th anniversary of the one-dollar circulation coin, Canadian artist Jean-Luc Grondin revisited the famous motif on the reverse, depicting the loon taking flight. The field is enhanced by a reverse gold plating, and the silver surface of the coin draws the eye to the engraved relief in the center, surrounded by the words "CANADA" and "DOLLAR", as well as the vintage "2019".
