The story of the Zeewijk – the last Dutch East Indiaman to be wrecked off the Western Australian coast.
The ship ran aground at the Houtman Abrolhus off the coast of Western Australia in 1727. A boat was sent to Batavia but never heard from again. The sailors then constructed another ship the Sloepie and 82 people were able to reach Batavia a month later. The wreck was discovered in 1964.
This the last of the coins to be issued in this series.
