Kiwis are native to New Zealand and belong to the ratites group. This includes other flightless birds such as emus, rheas, ostriches, and cassowaries. There are five species of Kiwi in total, and most of them can be found in large, forested areas and National Parks. These birds are largely nocturnal and survive on a diet of earthworms, insects, and fallen fruit.
