Comment

This coin was issued by the Royal Australian Mint from 2015 to 2017 as part of a series of 26 different $1 Coloured Reverse Frosted Uncirculated Fine Silver (.999) Alphabet Coins which capture the love of Australian animals and the alphabet. They were issued individually in capsules in a plush case.

Aluminium-bronze versions of the coin were also issued and could be collected individually as issued in a card or included as part of the Baby Mint Set. Hidden objects are found on the coins.

The silver coins were issued in 2015 with a Violet "Q", 2016 with a Yellow "Q" and 2017 with a Blue "Q"

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it is part of a unique series featuring the letters of the alphabet, with each letter being represented by a different coin. This series was designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, and the letter "Q" coin was released in 2015-2017. The coin's design features a stylized letter "Q" surrounded by a wreath of eucalyptus leaves, which is a nod to Australia's national floral emblem. The use of silver and pad printing techniques adds to the coin's aesthetic appeal, making it a sought-after collector's item.
