Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1990-1998 New Zealand 1 Dollar coin featuring Elizabeth II (3rd portrait) is that it was the first coin to feature a new portrait of the Queen, which was designed by sculptor Raphael Maklouf. This portrait was used on all New Zealand coins from 1990 until 1998, when it was replaced by a new portrait designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
