Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1978-1987 Canadian $1 coin featuring Elizabeth II (2nd portrait; small portrait) made of Nickel and weighing 15.62g is that it was designed by artist Arnold Machin. Machin's design features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse (front) side of the coin, while the reverse (back) side features a stylized maple leaf, which is a common symbol of Canada.
