Issued to commemorate New Zealand Day in 1974 by the New Zealand Reserve Bank. The coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint and issued as a BU coin in a square light green plastic case.


A number of Proof Coins were also produced in a Gem Specimen Proof Finish and issued in a small plush blue case.
