Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1987-1989 Canadian $1 coin featuring Elizabeth II (2nd portrait) is that it was the first coin to feature a new portrait of the Queen, which was designed by Canadian artist Dora de Pédery-Hunt. This portrait was used on all Canadian coins from 1987 until 2003, when it was replaced by a new design.
