Extremely scarce, only a handful of examples of these gold proof restrikes are known to exist.

Although apparently struck from the original dies, it is not known when these gold types were produced or by whom.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the British Trade Dollar is that it was minted with a unique "chopmark" counterstamp, which was applied by the Chinese government to confirm its authenticity for use in their country. This special marking makes the coin particularly sought after by collectors.
