Comment
This rare dollar was ordered to be made under the Dominion of Canada Currency Act of 1910. A specialized coining press was purchased, but later it was decided that the coins would not be made. Two dollars were struck in silver, and one in lead. This coin is unique and is housed in the Canadian National Currency Museum.Interesting fact
The Pattern 1 Dollar - 1911 (Lead pattern) 1911 from Canada made of Lead is a rare and unique coin that was never put into circulation. It was created as a trial strike to test the design and production process for a potential new dollar coin, but it was ultimately rejected due to the use of lead, which was deemed unsuitable for circulating currency. As a result, only a small number of these coins were produced, making them highly sought after by collectors.
