The Department of Banking and Monetary Control in the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli has declared that the new coin dinar currency issued by the parallel Central Bank in eastern Libya is not to be dealt with in any form, it stated in a publication on their official website that the currency has not been issued through the correct procedures and is considered as illegal. CBL Tripoli reiterated that it’s the only institution that has the authority to issue new currency, but in a 2023 statement CBL Tripoli has declared reunification in August, with representatives from Benghazi (near Al Bayda), after division for nearly a decade. It is not made clear in that statement what the new status of the 1 Dinar coin is. https://cbl.gov.ly/en/2023/08/20/both-the-governor-and-his-deputy-have-announced-that-the-central-bank-of-libya-has-returned-as-a-unified-sovereign-institution-and-will-continue-to-make-efforts-to-deal-with-the-effects-that-resulted/
