Coins of this type were found only in 2004 in a single hoard, those coins were attributed in the first time to the Huns.In 2018, Fishman and Todd have listed this coin in "The Silver Damma" under the brief rule of Jayasimha, the son of Raja Dahir of Chach (the last pre-Islamic King of Sindh) during its exile (712-715 CE).

One interesting fact about the 1 Damma coin from the Sindh Kingdom is that it features a unique trident symbol on its reverse side, which was a prominent emblem of the kingdom's ruling dynasty at the time.
