Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Daalder coin from the Lordship of Bergh is that it features an image of Frederick, the ruler of the region, on one side, and a shield with the Bergh arms on the other. This coin was minted during a time of great turmoil in the region, as the Dutch States were fighting for independence from Spanish rule. Despite this, the coin still bears the image of the Spanish king, Philip II, on the obverse side, highlighting the complex political dynamics of the time.
