Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Pattern 1 Crown - Charles II (Pattern 'Petition' Crown) 1663 from England is that it was designed to be a prototype for a new coinage system, but it was never adopted for circulation. Instead, it became a rare and highly sought-after collector's item, with only a few examples known to exist today.
