Three colors of cloisonne enamel can be found covering the 'Ho' character on the obverse. These colors are BLACK, BLUE, & GREEN, with scarcity following in that order. Sometimes the cloisonne enamel is chipped or completely broken out.

Interesting fact

The 1 Chon (Ho) ND coin was the first silver coin to be introduced in Korea, and it was used as a standard unit of currency during the late 19th century. It was equivalent to 100 smaller units called "mun," and it was used for large transactions and as a store of value. The coin was minted in 1882 and 1883, and it features an intricate design that includes a dragon on one side and a phoenix on the other. Despite its historical significance, the coin is relatively rare and valuable today, with some mint conditions selling for thousands of dollars.
