This is a very rare test: it's the first time we've offered such a copy for sale.
Gadoury and V. Guilloteau classify it under the First Empire; Mazard classifies it under the Second Republic; probably struck in 1851.

Interesting fact
This coin was designed by French engraver and medalist, Jean-Jacques Barre, who was also responsible for creating the iconic French coinage designs of the 19th century, including the Napoleonic coinage.
