Comment
The Provisional Government ordered the production of copper 1, 3 and 5 centesimi coins in Bologna to replace coins from the Papal States. These coins were struck with reused dies originally used under Carlo Felice (a previous King of Sardinia). They still have the date 1826, but can be distinguished from the originals by the absence of mintmarks.Listed as Emilia in Krause, but catalogued as United Provinces of Central Italy which were provisional governments of Tuscany and parts of the Papal States before they joined the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1861 to form the Kingdom of Italy.
Interesting fact
The 1 Centesimo coin from the United Provinces of Central Italy (Italian States) made of Copper and weighing 2g has an interesting fact that it was minted during the reign of Carlo Felice, who was the Duke of Parma and Piacenza from 1824 to 1831. He was known for his conservative policies and his efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region, which is reflected in the coin's design and mintage.
