Krause lists a variety (Y#B192) that says Guang Xu Yuan Bao (光緒元寶) at the top of the obverse rather than the typical Kuang Tung Sheng Zao (造省東廣); however, confirmation is needed on if that variety actually exists, as it seems the original coins are often mistaken for being of this variety.Interesting fact
The 1 Cent coin from Kwangtung Province, minted during the Guangxu period (1900-1906), was made of copper and weighed 7.32 grams. Despite its small denomination, this coin was an important part of China's currency system during a time of great economic change and political upheaval. The coin's design featured the Chinese dragon, a symbol of good fortune and prosperity, on one side, and the Chinese characters for "one cent" on the other. Today, this coin is a sought-after collector's item and a reminder of China's rich numismatic history.
