Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Cent - Elizabeth II (2nd portrait) 1976-1985 from Tuvalu is that it was the first coin to feature a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that was not designed by Arnold Machin, who had created the iconic effigy of the Queen that had been used on British coins since 1968. Instead, the portrait on the Tuvaluan coin was designed by Raphael Maklouf, an Israeli-British sculptor and coin designer. This change in design was a departure from the traditional depiction of the Queen and was seen as a way to give the coin a unique and distinctive look.
