Despite being listed in the "Standard Catalog of World Coins", Scholten, Schulman and Passon as bronze, official US Mint records state that these coins were minted in copper and zinc (brass).The palm tree mark signifies that these coins were minted for overseas territories of the kingdom, as opposed to the acorn mark for the country of the Netherlands.
Two types of reverse are known.
Reverse
Die A - script with short serifs, wide ribbon.
Die B - script with elongated serifs, narrow ribbon.
