Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Cavallotto coin from Genoa is that it features a unique design element - a small shield with the letters "S.G." (short for "Senatus Genuae," or "Genoese Senate") located above the coat of arms on the obverse side. This shield was added to the coin's design during the first phase of production (1528-1542) to signify the coin's official status as a currency issued by the Republic of Genoa.
