Comment
Hartill says Sima Guang designed some coins of Zhezong, but does not specify which era he designed coins for. Because Sima Guang died in 1086, he could of only designed coins for the Yuanyou era.In 1085, fourteen of the old mints were closed.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was produced during the reign of Emperor Zhezong of the Northern Song Dynasty, who ruled from 1085 to 1100. During his reign, the government implemented a number of economic reforms, including the introduction of a new currency system that included the use of bronze coins like this one. The use of bronze coins helped to stimulate trade and commerce, and it also helped to promote the spread of currency across different regions of China.
