Comment
Because the first era name of Huizong was too long (Jianzhongjingguo), the dynastic title Shengsong was used instead. And because small Chongning coins are scarce (2nd era of Huizong, 1102-1106), it is likely these Shengsong coins were produced into the Chongning era as well.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Standard circulation coin 1 Cash - Shengsong (Yuanbao; Seal script; iron) ND (1101-1106) from Empire of China made of Iron is that it was used as a form of currency during the Northern Song dynasty, which was a time of great economic growth and cultural achievement in China. The coin's design features a seal script characters "Yuanbao" which means "round treasure" and "Shengsong" which means "victory song" and was used to promote the use of iron currency instead of the traditional cowry shells. The use of iron as a material for coins was a significant innovation at the time and represented a major step forward in the development of currency.
