Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Standard circulation coin 1 Cash - Guangxu (Tongbao; Boo-ning; struck) ND (1898) from Empire of China made of Brass is that it was designed by a French sculptor named Jean-Baptiste Farochon. Farochon was commissioned by the Chinese government to create a new design for the coin, and his design features a stylized dragon on the obverse (front) side of the coin, with the Chinese characters "一圆" (yī yuán) meaning "one dollar" on the reverse (back) side. This coin was minted during the Guangxu period (1875-1908) of the Qing dynasty, and it was used as a standard unit of currency in China during that time.
