Interesting fact
The Guangxu (Pei Yang) ND (1904-1907) coin from Chihli Province was minted during a time of great change and turmoil in China. The Guangxu Emperor, who ruled from 1875 to 1908, was the only emperor of the Qing dynasty to issue coins with his own name and era title. This coin was minted as part of a series of reforms aimed at modernizing China's currency and economy. The use of brass for the coin was a departure from the traditional use of copper or silver, and was intended to increase the coin's durability and resistance to counterfeiting. Despite these efforts, the coin's design and materials were ultimately unsuccessful, and it is now a rare and valuable collector's item.
