Comment

In 1107, it was said that the enemy was melting iron cash coins and turning them into weapons. In response, some iron coins were made with high contents of tin.

Interesting fact

The Daguan Tongbao coin was the first coin in Chinese history to feature a square hole in the center, which was designed to make it easier to string together multiple coins for ease of carrying and storage. This unique design feature has made it a popular collector's item among numismatists and historians.
