Comment
A few coins of this type have appeared on Zeno (like 1330 and 169199), although it is uncertain who struck these. One example has been found with two tamghas on the reverse, with one tamgha being of Samarqand and the other resembing a tamgha appearing on the Shishpir coins. Even so, the exact identity is still unknown, and most seem to be uniface.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique blend of Islamic and pre-Islamic influences in its design. The tamgha symbols on the coin, which resemble ancient Sogdian symbols, suggest a continuation of pre-Islamic traditions and beliefs, while the Arabic inscription "Al-Samarqand" indicates the influence of Islamic culture. This blending of styles and beliefs reflects the complex cultural dynamics of the Samarqand region during this time period.
