Comment

Coin coined for the birth of Prince Leopold.
In the Giovanni Bovi studies [STUDI DI NUMISMATICA (1934-1984) DEL DOTTOR GIOVANNI BOVI, NAPOLI 1989], he reports that this type of coin was issued for a value of 4000 ducats, including the tari. 3970 were thrown to the people during a ride in honor of the Prince's birth and the remaining 30 served for the purchasing of bags and accessories to use during the ride.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during the reign of King Charles VI and Queen Elizabeth of the Kingdom of Naples, which was a short-lived kingdom that existed from 1714 to 1718. The coin was minted in 1716, and it features the effigies of both King Charles VI and Queen Elizabeth on opposite sides. This coin is a rare and valuable piece of numismatic history, and it serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of the Italian States during the early 18th century.
