This coin was minted from silver found in the Grube Holzappel a large amount of silver found in the mine led to the minting of these Ausbeutethaler coins. The mine was finally shut down in 1952 and provided mostly zinc ore but also provided reasonable amounts of silver and led.Interesting fact
