The value of this coin in gulden is not obvious from literature, but the gold real of 5.32 grams was valued at 3 gulden at the end of Charles V's reign and at 3.5 gulden at the beginning of Philip II's reign, so this coin would presumably be close to these.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Angel coin from the Lordship of Vianen is that it features a unique design element - a small shield with the coat of arms of the Van Brederode family, which was added to the obverse side of the coin. This shield was not present on earlier issues of the coin, and its inclusion on this particular coin may have been a deliberate choice made by the mint or the ruling family to highlight their connection to the Van Brederode lineage.
