Interesting fact
The ¼ Yang coin was the first coin to feature the portrait of King Gojong, the 26th king of the Joseon Dynasty and the first emperor of the Korean Empire. This coin was minted during a time of great change in Korea, as the country was transitioning from a traditional dynasty to a modern empire. The coin's design reflects this change, with the king's portrait on one side and the traditional Korean dragon on the other.
