Interesting fact
The ¼ Yang (Gwang Mu) 1-4 coin from Korea was designed by a French engraver named Charles Moreau, who was hired by the Korean government to create a new currency for the country. Moreau's design featured a combination of traditional Korean motifs, such as the taegeuk symbol (which represents the balance and harmony of yin and yang) and the eight trigrams from the I Ching, along with modern elements like the portrait of King Gojong. This blend of old and new styles was intended to reflect Korea's desire to modernize and become a more contemporary nation.
