Interesting fact
The ½ Won (Gwang Mu) 9-10 coin from Korea was issued during a time of great change in the country. In 1905, Korea was forced to sign the Japan-Korea Treaty of 1905, which gave Japan control over Korea's foreign affairs. This coin was minted during this period of Japanese colonial rule, and it features the Korean king, Gojong, on one side and the Japanese emperor, Meiji, on the other. This coin is a tangible reminder of the complex history between Korea and Japan during this time period.
